Our Services

Dr. Charlton

Dr. Charlton is a native New Mexican, born and raised in Bosque Farms. He attended New Mexico State University, receiving bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Psychology. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin Medical School in Madison he returned to the warmer climate of the desert southwest, completing an Internal Medicine internship in Tucson, Arizona followed by Neurology residency training and fellowships in Clinical Neurophysiology and Sleep Medicine at the University of New Mexico. He has been in Las Cruces since 2007.

Dr. Charlton is board certified in Neurology and Sleep Medicine. He is currently practicing Sleep Medicine full-time and has interests in narcolepsy and the various parasomnia disorders including REM behavior disorder.   

 

Jacqueline Tuton

Jacqueline Tuton was born and raised in Las Cruces, NM. She graduated from Mayfield High School and later attended New Mexico State University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in biology and a minor in chemistry. She later returned to school to obtain her nursing degree. She worked as an intensive care nurse before realizing her passion was in the 
 
treatment and management of mental health disorders. She obtained a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Psychiatric Mental Health. She spent the first couple years after graduation treating adolescents in an inpatient psychiatric setting before settling in at the Sleep Lab of Las Cruces to treat sleep disorders. She was trained in treatment and management of sleep disorders and completed the Advanced Practice Registered Nurses and Physician Assistants training course through the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. She continues to also work in an inpatient adult psychiatric setting and still specializes in mental health in the outpatient setting.

 

 

 

Thomas Hayth

Thomas Hayth was born and raised in the Las Cruces area. His medical training began by becoming a Respiratory Therapist at Dona Ana Community College in 1995. He went to New Mexico State University to become a Nurse in 2013 and a Nurse Practitioner in 2018. He has 13 years' experience teaching at the collegiate level in both Respiratory Therapy and Nursing. He completed the American Academy of Sleep Medicine training program for Advanced Practice Nurses. His interest in respiratory and family medicine serve him well in the treatment of sleep disorders. Thomas began working at the Sleep Lab of Las Cruces in October 2021.

 

 

About Our Staff

 

Sleep Lab of Las Cruces employs Registered Polysomnograpers to score sleep studies. This assures that each patient receives the most accurate diagnosis. Our RSPGT staff is certified through the Atlanta School of Sleep Medicine after stringent training and testing. Our night staff is overseen by a licensed Respiratory Therapist. All Sleep technicians are trained according to standards set by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Our staff training and competence exceeds standards set by state and national recommendations.
